DIMEN Project
Diverse Minds - Entrepreneurs with Autism
Overview of the DIMEN project, its main goal and target groups.
Main goal of the project
The main goal of DIMEN is to promote the social inclusion of autistic people through entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship has long been a route to success for underrepresented populations, especially for autistic people, as it offers a chance to add value to society and help them to become active citizens. Also, it reinforces personal value while giving individuals control over their own future.
DIMEN will directly support the inclusion of autistic adults, by promoting entrepreneurship as a pathway to inclusion. Furthermore, will increase the access of adult education by providing tailored resources and training for autistic people interested in entrepreneurship, helping autistic people to achieve financial independence.
Target group
The project’s direct target group is autistic adults type 1 (ASD), aged 18 to 30, who are finishing their studies and transitioning into adulthood.
In addition, adults with autism who are already entrepreneurs or self-employed and who use entrepreneurship as a means of earning a living.
Indirectly, the project will bring benefits to professionals who manage the employment units of autism associations. These professionals play a crucial role in supporting autistic people, but often lack the necessary expertise in entrepreneurship.
